If you live Fairfax County and haven't had a chance to visit this small park in Springfield take the time to do so. My husband and I walked the trail around the lake on a quiet Sunday morning and actually saw an Otter playing in the water, we also saw a rare Green Heron and a large white Egret, just a few of the beautiful birds in the park. ...

Great trail for walkers/joggers or bikes. It also connects with the CCT; Faifax "Cross Country Trial". We have been as far as Lawyers Road to Old Keen Mill Rd on the CCT which cuts threw Lake Accotink. We have seen deer, owls, foxes and sometimes snakes (black snakes). Lots of birds.

Well this park is fun for children and a great place for picnics! Everyone enjoys this place because of the water, parks, and picnic area!

It was totally cool! The lake is nice on a windy day. A walk down the creek side is pretty fun. You can usually see deer, neat fish, cool snakes, lots of ducks, and blue herrin. It has a great biking trail! Which is also great for a long Sunday afternoon hike! The staff at the park are very nice people. They will help you out with anything! They know their park! I'm definately coming back soon!!

I biked Lake Accotink yesterday (7/10/06) with four boys (10,7,5,3) and we had a great day! However, be aware that there are three spots on the 4 miles loop where you have to dismount due to steep inclines/steps.
