One of the few ways to see wildlife in nature. Lunch stop at Kantishna Roadhouse was great with fun activities of gold panning and dog team presentation. A lot better than the park tour buses.

Back to nature

I think this is one of the few places in North America that you can see wildlife in their habitat. It is almost a 100 mile trip one way in and out, a long day but well worth it to have an opportunity to see scenery and wildlife like this. Great Day Trip
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/13/04
Wow. This was the highlight of our trip in 2004. It is a long day but well worth the expense and time. We saw 8 bears, numerous moose, caribou, fox, eagles, sheep, a pack of wolves, porcupine and ptarmagin. We had great views of the mountain from Wonder Lake and Reflection Pond. We appreciated the frequent stops, the cookies, and our guide Kristy. What a day, what a memory.
