So it's almost $20/pp to get in and then everything else is extra.
Feed the giraffe? $3 for one cracker, $5 for 2. Ride the pony? $3 for one lap Ride the jeeps? $2 for 3 min. Ride the bananas (a circular thingy for kids)? $2 for 1.5 min Thirsty? $2.25 for a 32 oz cup or $9.00 for the souvenir cup

A very nice zoo with lots of interactive exhibits. My 4-yr-old son totally enjoyed the giraffe feeding, camel riding, sting-ray patting, the aviaries, and the manatees exhibit. The elephant and giraffee exhibits were staggered so you actually get an expensive safari-view. The tiger exhibit was closed for upgrade. Hint: buy the wrist-band package to ...

what a beautifull place to create memories with my granddaugther
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/16/08
I love the closesness that your park offers to some of my favorites animals like the giraffe and the camel. When I was a little girl they were like starts in the sky. Visiting your park the little girl that was inside me was happy to have the privilege of the opportunity that I always dreamed of. Thanks again.

Big Rip Off
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/07/08
Only about 10% of the animals where in thier cages for us to see and they looked sick to us, just laying around almost not moving. Most of the consession stands were closed and the entertainment was closed. We were there at about 11:00 on a Monday morning. Our two year old grandson was so disappointed and so were we. I think our money should be ...

Love the Zoo - some suggestions for an even better experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/20/07
This zoo is a wonderful place. In comparison to other zoo's across the country, we have a winner here in Tampa.
The staff is friendly and the grounds are clean. My grandchildren LOVE it every time they come to visit. They truly look forward to it! My husband and I do as well, which is why we buy a season pass and a guest pass every ...
I don't often get to Florida, but first visited Lowry Park Zoo in 2001 with my family. The children and I have been back again in 2004 and my husband and I plan to go in Sept '07. Looks as though there are many more features to the zoo that have been built and improved, so looking very much forward to the visit.
My husband and I agreed that this is one of the best zoos we have been to (best mid-size for sure). He and I grew up going to the National Zoo and Baltimore Aquarium and have gone to Philly, San Diego, Pittsburgh, and Denver zoos within the past few years.
Specifically, we liked:
1. It is compact, flat, and easy to walk. Exhibit entrances ...
