I lived within walking distance to Sunken Gardens in the 70's as a child - and went there often. I'm so glad it is not torn down - it's still beautiful. But, I do miss those great hamburgers they had at that little grille!
We visited the Gardens in late autumn, during Thanksgiving. The gardens are not too big, but very beautiful, it seems like a secret and cosy oasis, we enjoyed every minute there, took lots of pictures and would go back next time to visit Saint Petersburg. Our 5 yrs old daughter enjoyed it running on the alleys which seem like a labyrinth, admiring plants and flowers and playing in the japanese garden.

They were nuts to want to tear this down!

Everything was beautiful. I'm outraged that someone would want to destroy something so spectacular! Plus it's a part of Florida history! Shame on those monsters!
