  • Better before the "Upscale Change"
    By Carla, 10/31/08
When I first visited this winery, I was overcome by its charm, lovely ambiance in a low-key atmosphere. Since the red carpet theme has been installed, they charge 25.00 per head (whether you drink or not, my husband was driving and did not wish to taste) to visit the the celler. I explained to the attendant I wanted to purchase Rubicon Estate and ...

  • Charged a "property fee"??
    By Pamela, 04/12/07
My husband and I have visited this winery a couple of times because we enjoy the movie memorabilia. However, when I took our son for a visit yesterday we were hit with a $25 PER PERSON "property fee". The fee included tasting of up to (I think) 4 wines, but for the non-drinker like myself this is no bonus. The movie memorabilia was ...

  • Beautiful winery! Wines not bad either
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/05
Coppola has done an amazing job restoring the Niebaum winery. However, I couldn't help feeling that it was a bit artificial... like we were on a movie set! The grounds and the cellar are beautiful! Uptairs from the bustling tasting room and retail store, there is a little Coppola museum which includes the a bunch of artifacts from his films.

I really enjoyed the winery and the wines were actually quite good!

  • Add to your wine tour
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/30/05
Great place to add to your wine tasting sites. The landscape is wonderful - there's even a small "musueum" of Coppola's movie history, including his Academy award trophies! Take a picture by the fountain. Enjoy the scenery.....

  • Ambient but Arrogant
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/07/05
The setting is fantastic and if you're a fan of Francis Ford Coppola's films, this is the place for you. The wines aren't necessarily knee-buckling, but some you will taste may do the trick. What doesn't do the trick is the downright snotty pourers in the tasting room. I know their salaries, I know they don't make the wines ...
