I have enjoyed staying at the Florida Norte with my husband and children. The hotel is safe and its location is near to many interesting sites in Madrid.

Never, never here again!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/10/07
The only good thing about the hotel is its location close to the Metro and bus station and not far from the very old part of Madrid.
This is an average 3stars hotel, not four. Service is poor, personnel is quite old compared to other hotels in Spain and quite unfriendly, had to start a quarrel in order to have them call for a taxi to the ...

Don't exchange money there
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/21/06
Don't exchange your american dollars to Euros there, they don't give you a reciept and have very high rates! The hotel itself was very nice and the rooms although the beds were placed very close together.
This is a good choice if you are looking for something clean, cheap, relative good location (near sub station and a nice Mall)
So, tumbs up to Florida Norte Hotel....

do not believe a 4-* rating

The location is not bad - about 15 minutes walk to the Palacio Real and 25 minutes walk to the very center of the city. But.... The walls are probably made of paper - one can hear every sound from the next room. The ventilation is so poor that after a shower you find condensate not only on the mirror but on every horizontal surface in the ...

Perfect location!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/07/05
This hotel is right in downtown Madrid, close to the sightseeing, as well as the nightlife. We went to a flamenco show, took the Metro, and went to a disco all within walking distance of the hotel. The staff is incredibly friendly, and was helpful in assisting me with my Spanish. I definately would stay here again!
This is our second time at Madrid (September 2005) and we choose again this hotel because of: 1. Excellent location, near the old center of Madrid. 2. Principe Pio subway station and bus stop at the front. 3. Nice rooms and beds. 4. Excellent services.

It is a nice hotel with pleasant staff, breakfast included was about as close to U.S. style I have seen. The rooms are air conditioned, and the beds are comfortable, plus its only two blocks away from Casa Mingo the best chicken place in town, and located next to Principe Pio on line 10 which is key.
