We just returned from a trip to Belize. We had a spectacular time. But the one bad experience was with the Vega Inn. First of all it was very overpriced ($150 USD per night) and it was totally run down.
Second, the proprietor, Maria, was rude and unreasonable. She charged us for 3 days when we only stayed one night.
With so many quality places to stay on Caye Caulker at reasonable prices, there is no reason to stay here.

A Great Find

On a last minute trip to Caye Caulker we found most hotels booked, except for The Vega Inn. The price was super cheap but the room looked clean enough. Share a bath and bring your own towel. How could we argue? Very close to everything; right on the main street. We intended to spend our days snorkeling, tours inland, and visiting all around Belize.
I would definitely stay at the Vega Inn again!
