I cannot describe the condition of the room and can only think that it was because I was part of a tour (an expensive one) that they dared put me in a room soooooo dirty and smelly. One of our tour members could not use his bathroom the smell of urine was so bad it was like something from a horror movie. The staff at reception looked straight ...

we stayed here with our tour group. the service was non-existence even if staff were visually apparent. felt like an abandoned hotel. rooms were meager and in very poor shape- tiled floor which was dirty, poor ventilation, badly need of an overhaul. do not stay here.

GOOD STUFF
By oldgravy, 12/24/05
I enjoyed my stay here. A nice walk along the Lungaro river and you can be at the Ponte Vecchio. It's not the closest to everything but it's in a good location. Pretty good customer service. I never had any problems there. And I totally love Italy!

I won't be going back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/29/05
I recently stayed in this hotel as part of a tour group. We did not have a choice of lodging. Prior to leaving for the trip, I looked up this hotel on-line. The hotel room photos are very deceiving. Don't let the beautiful lobby fool you! It was like an old dorm room. The floors were not carpeted - all tile. The bathroom was very small. ...

There are better hotels in Florence
By Spencer, 06/10/05
Luckily we were only there for one night.
The rooms were decent, but small, as were the bathrooms. Our windows also didnt' open and consequently the room was very warm (ac didnt do much at all.) We also ate dinner at the hotel, which was OK but unimpressive, and the waiters were terribly slow.
My biggest problem with this hotel was ...

Old but a worthy stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/05/05
A comfortable stay but the bathrooms were very small. The blinds were also a bit tough to operate, but the service was excellent and the hotel was very clean.

Not good at all!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/25/04
I'm not sure where the other reviewer stayed but this hotel is the pits! It is split into two sides... I assume one side is nice, and the other is just plain GHETTO! Tile floors, two twin beds squeezed into a 9 x 9 room. I had more space in my dorm room. The also have one elevator, not very efficient at all. Its sort of in walking distance... its a decent walk, keep in mind Florence doesn't have a subway system.

Fantastico!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/04
We stayed in the Mediterraneo for the weekend and it was fabulous. One of the nicest hotel that we stayed in in Italia. Very close to Piazza Michaelangelo and everywhere else you would need to be. L'albergo e bellisimo.
