Close to DenaliI stayed here as part of my land tour package, booked through Princess Cruises, around June 2006. The hotel is fairly close to Denali National Park by vehicle and to gift shops located across the street. I liked this hotel because of its general location to many of the local attractions.

Beautiful Lodge...We recently spent two nights in this lodge. The lodge is absolutely beautiful and the rooms were huge. Our room was very clean and the staff was very helpful. I am not cheap, but I felt the eating options were limited and pricey--being isolated on the lodge grounds gave no extended choices for eating. Even the couple eating places that ...2 of 2 Yahoo! Breathtaking viewsRoom was sparkling clean. Just happened to be in the newest section of the Lodge with its own lobby and a small coffee shop and bar. Very peaceful and uncrowded. Gorgeous LocationDecent rooms, great service and stunning views are at Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge. The heart of Alaska..We recently spent two nights at the Denali Princess Lodge, and were very pleased with the accomodations, service and most importantly the location. geared to the older tour crowdWe (a family of four, kids 8 and 11) stayed for two nights in early June. Like another reviewer, we had booked our train separately. The hotel is very geared to serving the cruise ship package people, and don't seem very concerned with helping independent travelers. The place is filled with over-60 tour group crowd.

Not what we expected!We took the Princess Rail tour from Anchorage to DeNali Princess Lodge - cost was expensive - everything went well until we got to the lodge - we were considered "independents" since we planned our own trip and were not with a cruise tour.

Impressive viewsThe main lodge lobby is beautiful Too bad they didn't light the fireplaces for atmosphere. Staff was new and could not solve problems, offered newness as excuse. Room not cleaned; breakfast was cold at Summit Restaurant; advertised tours were not open yet. Peacefulness of location was a plus. Gift shop staff courteous and helpful.
