Whenever our company folks travel to Shanghai, this is the hotel to stay. The only thing bad about this hotel, while it has done a amazing job upgrading itself, is that the rooms are still not up to the standards of other elite hotels, in terms of cleaniness, electronics, and comfort of the bed.

Stayed at the JC Mandarin in Feb 2006 for business. The room was good, the breakfast buffet was great, room service was okay. The hotel is close to shopping, but not terribly close to the Huai Hai businesses. The hotel spa had the worst massage I've ever had, very light and the therapist took a call during the treatment. Unfortunately, the spa staff did not understand English. The Evian Spa on the Bund is excellent.
