The Bronte is a beautiful place to stay with a relaxing environment, excellent service and beautiful gardens filled with wonderful traditional sculpture. When it came to service - nothing was ever a problem. Location excellent with a supermarket serving t/away meals (when avail) and water etc 5 mins walk away. Local taxis outside (make sure ...

My favourite place

My family and I had a wonderful months stay at the Bronte. The rooms were as good as any and the service was not only friendly but very helpful. The food was excellent and the bar was always full in the evening. The children could swim while the adults relaxed. A true oasis and a hidden gem.

another hotel in the Bronte Group
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 09/13/06
Ask the Bronte about the Baines Hotel - B&B. It is part of the Bronte Group (I'm sure - as the receptionist and I from the Baines had to go over there to pay my account!)and I am not sure why they do not publicise it. Knowing about the Baines I rang the Bronte for a price comparison - only to have its existence denied! A ploy to have me ...

Still a great place to stay
By tabermorris, 05/08/06
Everything I said in the 2004 review still stands. It is an oasis in a troubled city. Rates have increased. No internet connection. The statues in the gardens were by world famous Zimbabwean sculptors, before they were so famous.
Why stay in simply another hotel, when you can have this calm grandeur at a reasonable price?

Tranquillity in mayhem

Beautiful people, buildings, rooms and gardens.
Shona sculpture on the pathways to rooms and pools. People wanting you to relax and to help you. Simple good value food when I was there.
But how are they doing now?

An oasis of quiet beauty in an busy city
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 10/28/04
We always splurge for a day or two at the Bronte [$100 US is a bit expensive in Zimbabwe] on our way in or out of the country. The gardens, birds, greenery, sculptures, and friendly staff make this intimate hotel feel more like the town home of a wealthy, but relaxed millionaire than a typical hotel.
