Well my wife and I had been to pigeon forge a few times and had enjoyed our trip, but this time we decided to take the kids and was looking for a nice bigger hotel. But this was not the place. The rooms were advertised as grand with plenty of room. But these rooms were no bigger then a medium size closet. It was also filthy. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It should be tore down and made into a dump it would be a nicer stay.
I was at the grand resort this past weekend for a weekend getaway . I saw all the terrilble reviews of this hotel and thought to myself, My gosh what have I got myself into , since I had already made reservation prior to reading the reviews . I did not want to cancal . So I went anyway , since it was a good value at a short notice . Arrived that ...

I was there in October 2005. The first room they gave me, one of the door locks was missing (the one on the door handle). The second room's door handle lock didn't work at all. The third room was okay, until the second night I was there, when the door handle lock BROKE. The next morning I went to check out--I was going to go to a reputable ...
My husband and I stayed here for convention the last week of October 2005...we had to pay up front before we even saw our room. The waterfall in the loby was covered in mildew (very bad if you have asthma or allergies like I do). The room was alright, it had both a microwave and a refridgerator but no alarm clock. The shower was very small and ...
We attended a WWII ship reunion at the Grand. I had read some of the bad reviews after making reservations and wondered how it would be. We were pleasantly surprised to find the staff very helpful & courteous. The rooms were perhaps not as updated as newer hotels might have been, but were clean and the A/C, plumbing, lighting all worked fine. I ...
We have gone to Pigeon Forge for the past 5 years for the Shades of the Past Car Show. We decided last year to stay in the middle of the action so we booked the Grand. Last year the hot tub was cold, pool was clean heated and fine. Staff seemed friendly enough. Hotel was disappointing but hey it is old. In its day it was problably great but now ...

Filthy, dirty & disgusting

The pool was filthy. Globs of hair floating around, bugs & debris. We had to get out it was so bad. The room was dirty, carpets filthy. The "maid service" left empty pop can sitting for all 4 days. We saw dozens of better hotels that had cheaper rates and didn't make the claim of being a resort. Extremely disappointed!

liked: breakfast buffet was average.
the hotel was not clean, had water leaks, and was not safe to stay at. the ceiling tile was falling down. some electrical outlets did not work in room. bathroom floors were stained black. fireplace walls were black from smoke and not cleaned. spitter webs on lamp shades. not safe for small children. i guess ...
The lobby was dark and had a funky smell. We asked to see the room first. We had to walk thru water in the walk way from the air conditioning units, the room look dirty and smelled bad. We DID NOT STAY. We canceled our reservation. The manager suggested another one of their hotels Smokey Shadows at light 10. We checked it out and the hotel was alot better. We stayed in the towers.
