I love the Doubletree Hotel...it is very clean and the seafood buffet is to die for! It cost 27 dollars per person, but it is so worth it. The hotel lobby is beautiful. The staff is very friendly! I would definitely go back again!
It appears this hotel has had a facelift in the last few years judging by the previous reviews. The lobby and restaurant area were very nice and modern. The rooms were similarly appointed. You can tell that it is an older hotel by the minor things (corners of wallpaper peeling, etc.) but they have done a great job upgrading it to today's ...

i love the people and i love the rooms everything was clean and the lobby was to die for. when i needed someone for help they were right their good job everyone for making my stay perfect i will defiantly be coming back.
great jucuzzi suite, nice atmosphere, needs a bit a sprucing up but a nice experience. Husband and i enjoyed it immensely. recommend for romance and fun.
As a business woman I value staying at a hotel where I can get to know the staff and feel secure. Here I have seen the same friendly faces for years! Must be a great place to work. I like the free internet and indoor pool. It's close to the mall and easy access to I-20 and that's a plus.

Decent Value

The hotel is older, was a Sheraton. The downside is that it is definately older, and looks it. The plus is that the place is clean, comfortable, and the staff was really nice. My kids loved the pool, and I loved being able to walk around with my laptop anywhere in the building and get the internet.
The desk staff was friendly, and I am sure when this hotel was in it's glory it was very nice. BUT.... this hotel is in need of a major facelift in ever aspect. We stayed here via a blind shot on Priceline. For $45 I was able to stomach the value of the stay, but I would not have wanted to have had payed a penny more! It's too bad, like I ...

Clearly under new management
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/28/05
I liked the hotel much better now than compared to my stay about six months ago. The overall cleanliness and service is better. I enjoyed having room service and breakfast the next morning. At night the lounge was a bit loud for having very few people in it. Kudos to the new management.

Good Changes - Mostly
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/28/05
I would like to commend the new management in bringing quality back to this hotel. I stayed here over a year ago and it was filthy. Now it is much cleaner and better - except the nightclub is awful. That was better closed. I did not eat, but had a few drinks at the poolside bar. I reccommend Vicky to be your bartender. She was great as was the front desk ladies. Overall a nice stay when given a discounted rate.

friendly staff and comfy rooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/12/04
I recently stayed at the Augusta Towers Hotel and Convention Center and I must say that I will stay there again. The staff was friendly and attentive to my needs. My room was comfortable and most of all the whole atmosphere in the hotel was pleasant. The hotel is located just a short distance from some great shopping and dining establishments. All in all I would have to say that this was a wonderful place to stay.
