Never AgainMy wife and I stayed at the Rio for the first time in 2000 and we had a wonderful time. We have visited Las Vegas five times since then, and have stayed at various casinos. I love it here!We've tried most of the strip resorts. Rio is not the cleanest, or newest, but it is just fun! We always have a great view with the ceiling/floor windows, and love the carnival in the sky. It's a fun, loud place. And the Voo Doo Lounge is fun and has the best view of the strip!!1 of 4 Yahoo! Great Value--We're Going Back!The hotel was clean, convenient, and priced fairly. The slots were a little tight, but that happens everywhere. I enjoyed the variety of dining options. Being away from the strip has plusses and minuses. The traffic is a little better, and they have a free shuttle. The strip is nearby.3 of 7 Yahoo! Rio smoke and the showerBasically good service, friendly staff. We are non-smokers and our room was very smelly of smoke. The shower has a uni-control with full water pressure & temp adjustment only with a very high nozzel. Wastes a lot of water and makes it a real challenge to shower without drowning.

Very pleasant experienceI read as many reviews as I could prior to staying; some were good; some were bad. I booked our trip via internet, so after reading reviews, I e-mailed the hotel and specifically asked for a non-smoking, remodeled suite. Fun timeI enjoyed my stay at the Rio. Reading the complaints from the other reviewers, those are standard completes that most hotels get. If you're going to Vegas with high standards you're going to find something wrong. I spent my time in Vegas having fun with friends, so I didn't spend much time in the room except to sleep and shower. But the casino itself was fun.
