Good price and close to NYC

It was only a few miles from NYC, where most hotels were 2-3 times the price of this one, and this was a very nice hotel, with large rooms, new and modern design and decorating, very clean, a fridge and microwave in the room, large TV, wonderful bathroom, etc. etc... An Excellent Alternative to New York City!

Three family members and I just arrived from a single night at the Holiday Inn Express Meadowlands in Carlsdadt, New Jersey. We got one night free with our Priority Club Reward Points, and we left the hotel without paying a penny, not even for additional taxes and such. Worst stay ever. We paid for two nights, only stayed one night AND the night we stayed they stated they didn't have any room for us but upon reflection found a smoking room - even though they acknowledged that the reservation stated no smoking. On top of that, they double billed us for the night we stayed.
Terrible.
