I will definitely be backI enjoyed the Palace tremendously. The staff in all aspects of the hotel were great from the Casino to the Valet to the Bar. Casino problemsWe have stayed at The Palace 3 times and the first two times were great but the last time I was there shows that it needs major improvements! The worst thing about it is that after Hurricane Katrina they placed their casino inside the hotel lobby area and it is about 20 times smaller than it was before the hurricane and VERY VERY smokey and ...2 of 2 Yahoo! Great Rooms for the PriceThe staff was very friendly. The rooms were well appointed, clean and large. The breakfast buffet was great. The only negative about the entire experience is how smokey it was coming in the door of the casino where you have to check in. We will never go backOverall this place stinks!!!! Food, room and security!!!! It took security forever to correct a problem after we had called the front desk several times. Bring your own cupsThere are many things to like about the Palace but unfortunately, I looked carefully at the cups in the bathroom and they had obviously been hastily rinsed and put back. I took one to the main desk where they looked at it, agreed it was dirty and said they would take care of it. After the next cleaning of our room, I checked the cups and again ...4 of 4 Yahoo! needs a plan for the futurethe palace obviously wanted to get back in business fast--i saw nothing about going forward--just standing still--casino was smokey--temperature in casino very warm in places and cold in places and definitely not the beautiful place it used to be--limo service was great--checking in required you to go through the casino with bags etc--food was not what it used to be--we will try something else--jc3 of 3 Yahoo!
