  • Dream night out with my girl
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/10/08
I travel the world for a living and have stayed in many hotels. The Granvia is at the very top of the list for service, food and a great view of the city. For anyone trying this hotel book a city view room. Now for breakfeast we had the american breakfast I found it to be very good and if you wanted something cooked to your liking, no problem. You must sit back and relax they will help you in every way.

    By J, 07/13/08
-Wonderful service through and through. Great help with Kyoto's things to see.
-Amazing private tour they this hotel exclusively puts on of a Shinto Shrine. (Highly recommended!!)
-Location. It doesn't get any better than this one. From the Shinkansen train you go out of the ticket gate, go up a set of escalators into the heart of the ...

  • Wow!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/01/08
With a perfect location for anyone with a Japan Rail pass, the Granvia was a delightful respite from the marvelous and bustling Kyoto Station. Every morning, we would get on a bus at the central bus station(conveniently located outside the Granvia)and explore the city. At the end of each day's exploration of Kyoto, we would take the escalator ...

  • A great location!
    By mary, 05/26/07
The hotel staff is friendly and efficient. Service is vexcellent, the best ever. The rooms have great views of the city, are quite large and have equally well-apportioned bathrooms! At the end of a long day it was nice to enjoy the complimentary hot tea, slippers and yukata. The location is the best for travel around the city by train, subway, ...

After a lot of Internet research to find a convenient, up scale hotel nrear to all the places I wanted to go, finally I found the Hotel Granvia. On top of the train station (no you can not hear the trains), easy to get to in/out. Very best service of all the places I stayed over a two week visit to Japan.

I traveled with my wife and 1 child. ...

    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/07/06
Beautiful 15-story hotel atop Kyoto Station - Broadband connection in all guest and banquet rooms - Easy access to Kansai Airport.
Stayed here for three nights on a vacation. It was wonderful stepping off the train and pretty much being at the hotel already! Check in went fine. The room was rather spacious (a double) and was very clean and ...

We started our Christmas family vacation in Kyoto. We arrived from Narita via shinkansen, we arrived about 7:40pm. It was nice just to walk with our bags to the hotel with out even going outside. The staff was extremely attentive, the rooms were large and spacious(compared to the typical japanese hotel)we had a view from the backside, facing Toji ...

  • smack dab in the middle of everything
    By Keith, 09/13/05
We stayed here for four nights. The hotel is well located above kyoto station, this makes a big difference after spending 14+ hours on a plane from the US.

Rooms are smallish (we got the standard), but clean. The standard rooms do not have much of a view, but if you are going to spend most of your time sight seeing, it shouldnt ...
