We got into the hotel room at midnight and it was really hot in the room. They didn't have a new window unit or other room. We asked for our money back and IVAN COLLAZO, the so called manager, said NO WAY. Can you believe it? Why should we wait until the next business day to get a cool room? Why do they still have window units? He ...

ABSOULTELY WONDERFUL
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/30/07
Just spent 4 days at the Washington Jefferson and cannot wait to go back. I have stayed in hotels all around the world but nowhere have I met such wonderful staff. The moment I arrived, the door was whisked open and that was just the begining of a wonderful visit in this hotel. The rooms are spotless - the bedding so comfortable... bathrooms ...
I was in NYC on business during the recent United Nations meeting. This place jacked the price up to $400 a night. When I got there I almost cried - a window a/c unit, windows that had gaps big enough for a pigeon to fly through, TINY room, not very clean. I read a review about the sink being really small but I was shocked when I saw it myself. You ...
The hotel is between 8th and 9th Avenue (closer to 8th) so the location is great in relation to the theatre district. However, as other reviewers have noted, the rooms are VERY small. We got a roll-away bed for my son, so that made it terrible-very cramped. Our bed had a piece of plywood in lieu of box springs-that's just being cheap! (We are ...
we had no resevations, and got there late in the evening, only one room was left, a suite. seeing that we had no reservations, it beeing late and us beeing tired, the desk clerk, who turned out to be the manager, could have easily taken advantage of us, but he charged us only $85!!!!!!! for a suite!!!!!!!!! he said it was late, that's why. THANKS!!!

excellent !!!

the hotel is at human size (that is quite unbelievable in manhattan !), the staff is really professional, helpful and polite. Our room had a king size bed, with shower and toilets for a reasonable price. Despite the noise all around us, we spent good nights in the WJ hotel. We recommand it greatly !!!
True, the location was really good-close to everything you'd want to see. But the rooms were flat-out uncomfortable. There was barely enough room to move about with the luggage in the room. For the price, this just is not worth it.

Perfect hotel!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/26/06
I just recently stayed at the Washington Jefferson hotel with my 15 year old daughter over the Christmas Weekend (Saturday 12/23 thru Monday 12/25), for our first Christmas away from home. We are from Boston so it is not far, but we did drive, and the hotel has a garage to accomodate parking your car, for a fee. This hotel was perfect! The ...

Nicest people in NYC!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/11/06
The staff at this hotel are the nicest people I have ever met in NYC. They were courteous and helpful at all times during my stay. In addition, even though the room was a bit small (as most NYC rooms are), it had absolutely the most comfortable bed I have slept in, in a long time. Cleanliness could not have been better. AND it's in great location. BRAVO!!
