Location is good,room is clean but bed bugs problem. Service is very awful. Yeah it's cheap rate but I got a lot of Bed bug bites... I'll never come back.

I liked the fact that it is not a chain hotel. The room was clean and large, of course we had a "suite". Also the furnings were not typical hotelesque, it was more like Ikea does a hotel room. The entrance was confusing but if you look at the number on the building for verification you will see that the entrance is for a Betty Boop ...

I was booked into this hotel by my corporate office, and they have spent the last two weeks apologizing. The entrance to the hotel is through the "Betty Boop Diner", so finding the hotel is a challenge, especially as it's in the heart of the Tenderloin, and you have to fight your way through street people to even get to the doorway ...

Great value. In the middle of everything and very cheap.. Great quality for the price!! It is located right at the Cable car stop and not to mention the proximity to the BART. You can easily walk to the Ferry Building as well. It is just a great location for the price..Will go back again...

The Herbert Hotel is one of my little secrets in San Francisco. For the price they charge per night, I believe no other hotel can beat it! It's literally in the heart of Union Square, near the BART station, and within close proximity to the best restaurants and clubs. The decor and service is excellent as well. I've already recommended this hotel to 2 friends and I've heard great things as well. Keep up the good work!

Right downtown, surrounded by shopping restaurants and nightclubs. Friendly and accomodating staff.
