GREAT Location. If you are looking for a very BASIC place to stay for cheap then this is it. Bathrooom was new and redone but not much else in the building. Could use a paint job. You get what you paid for. Safe at night due to them locking front doors

Do not go in this hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/19/07
This hotel is not very clean and when I was there, i found cockroaches in my room.
The service was not really good and it is a very old building.
I recently stayed at this hotel because I needed a cheap room near the wedding reception I was attending down the street at the Hotel Monaco. The bill was $78 including taxes which is an unbelievably cheap price for this area (it's very nice - you walk past Gucci and Louis Vuitton in Union Square on the way to the hotel from the Powell St. ...

Decent deal for the money

We were expecting the worst when we stayed here in May because the rates are so low, but were pleasantly surprise. Although the hotel is older, the front desk staff was very helpful and the rooms were clean. The hallways and rooms are not updated, but they are clean. Overall, this is a great deal if you want a place to rest your head and shower ...

You get what you pay for

I'm glad I stayed at Union Square Plaza Hotel. I wanted to stay in a central part of San Francisco, but not pay a lot of money. Union Square Plaza Hotel is one of the only hotels to fit those requirements. It's not fancy - ugly blue carpeting, no lobby, small rooms - but it's not gross or unsanitary either (except for the one roach ...
