We love Suizo! Capitan Suizo is the best hotel in Tamarindo! The service was great, the food was delicious, location was awesome, the wildlife is great (especially the iguanas and monkeys!), and the staff are very kind. The location is perfect because it's just out of town, but about 3 minutes driving to town. The rooms are very nice and clean ...
There is a half-inch gap at the base of the sliding wood doors to the bungalows. All sorts of nasty critters find their way underneath. Our room was overrun with ants and other bugs. It was so bad that we wouldn't turn the lights on near our bed to keep them away.
There was no hot water in the outdoor shower. There was scant hot water in ...

Excellent hotel in Tamarindo!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/20/07
We were University students on vacation to see wildlife and relax. This hotel is located on the end of Playa Tamarindo, giving it an almost private feel. The only other people that were on that section of beach were a few other fellow hotel guests. The calm water made swimming perfect. At the end of the day, you could curl up with a good book in ...

The worst experience in my life
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/06/05
What I like or deslike about this place? Well the only thing that I like it about it, was the location, the rest...I mean...the service was poor, the food, ... everything was awful. I will never come back there, was a terrible experience.

I've stayed at the Capitan Suizo multiple times. I adore this hotel. The rooms are lovely, the grounds are beautiful and you can see the beach from the pool. As a travel agent I often recommend this hotel to other travelers. It's location is perfect. It is off the main street, so a short walk is required to get "into town" ...

I read "Michael's" description on Feb. and thought, oh, no - could the bungalow in the end of May be a mistake. First of all, the picture on this website is not of Hotel Capitan Suizo. The buildings, grounds, pool are exquisite. Best of all, the beach is right next to the pool/bar/restaraunt area. We tried the bungalow and enjoyed it ...

Great location...nice hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/05
We just returned from a trip to Costa Rica, including two nights in Tamarindo. There were three of us women - and we had a large three-bed room on the top-floor with no a/c. You would think that would be bad...but it was actually pleasant! The doors are all screens and there were two fans. The hotel property was lovely, right on the beach with a ...

Flying into Liberia, Costa Rica is the best route to go not only in location to resort but also getting in/out of customs. It was a breeze. Resort is located about an hour from airport. Tamarindo Beach is a small surfer town. April may not be the best month to visit as the heat was almost unbearable. On the up side, no mosquitoes. We were ...
