This place was probably the nicest B&B we stayed at during our two weeks in Ireland. It's situated on a hill overlooking great views of the water and the town. Our room was on the second floor and in the rear with skylights that opened for rest air or the stary sky at night. It was nice & roomy, clean with everything you may need. ...

Wonderful

This is the best B & B I have ever stayed at. I didn't notice any lack of friendliness from the inn keepers, quite the contrary. We were greeted right away, checked in, and given a map of the town with where to buy the things we asked about. And there was no toilet problems, in spite of the fact that I'm an American. In fact, if I ...

Awesome Experience!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/14/08
Greenmount House was exceptional. John and Mary were very friendly and helpful--they guided us to some great places for local music, food, sights, etc. Our room (and some others) was recently renovated and it was well done with nice amenities--refrigerator, cd player, tv, large bathroom, heated towel rack, etc. It's convenient to the town ...
Don't know what the prob is with that other writer as we found Greenmount to be throughlty relaxing, exceptionally clean and John extremely helpful when we needed motor assistance! The breakfast was not just your ordinary run of the mill fry up, but a fantastic choice for all tastes....the home cooking outstanding and all fresh foods. have already recommended same to family and friends! keep up the good work!

Great location, diffucult plumbing

We found the Greenmount House lovely and the breakfast was exceptional. Like another reviewer however, we were a little taken aback by the cool reception by the owners. We actually had the same toilet problem and were told that we Americans just don't know how to handle Irish toilets! Although we thought it was a hilarious statement, it was a ...
This was the best place we stayed at during our trip to Ireland. The rooms were huge and very comfy, with all of the little things that make it great. Even a huge bathtub separate from the shower. The breakfasts were outstanding, unsurpassed. It is pricey, but well worth it for at least a night or two. Easy 3 block walk down to the city center, beautiful view of the bay...you can't go wrong here.

I first stayed at Greenmount House in 2001 with guests/clients of my private tour company. It was an exceptional stay and everything was perfect. I admit that at first John was a bit cool but hey, not everyone on this planet is as outgoing (and sometimes falsely so, and overly done, not genuine but instead with one eye on the clock and the other on ...

Great Views, Nice Accomodations, No Warmth in Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/11/05
It's true that the Greenmount is a well kept property and they do have a very impressive view of the harbor. Somehow all of that really doesn't matter if the service provided by John and Mary lacks the charm and warmth we had experienced with other innkeepers in Ireland. From the very beginning there was a cold reception from them both. ...

Simply the best!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/29/05
My wife and I along with our teenage son spent three wonderful nights with John and Mary Curran May 2004. The rooms were very clean with great views. We had a suite. The breakfasts were the best we had in our two week Ireland trip. John and Mary were very helpful in arranging for tours and picking out the best pubs for Traditional Irish music. We are still talking about it a year later. Can't wait to go again....
