  • Where Do I Start?
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/24/06
When we came into the lobby... WOW! It was wonderful! The bellman, who we knew (that's another story), actully gave my daughter a piggy-back ride witch was helpful because she can be a pest and we had alot of bags. Our room had the most beatuiful view I have ever seen. We stayed there for 10 days and every day was great! When we left, the ...

  • Paradise
    By J2D, 08/23/06
My boyfriend and I stayed here, and it was a lovely experience. The service was better than any we had ever experienced before or after, and the
quiet, secluded beach made the rest of the world disappear.

  • poor service
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/23/06
We had made reservations for afternoon tea and had arrived a little late for "our reservation". But not only were their people sitting throughout the area, we were told our reservation was not on their books. We had called prior to arriving to ask if that would be ok to be late. We were told to come and it should be no problem. The ...

  • Very Relaxing!
    By Joyce, 08/11/06
The Kahala was such a beautiful hotel that my husband and I almost felt out of place! We had a dolphin lagoon view room on the first floor for our honeymoon, and listening to the dolphins in the middle of the night was truly a calming experience.

The staff was quite helpful, the beach was very serene. However don't be surprised by those ...

  • Not the usual Mandarin Standard
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/30/06
    Pros:

Very nice location, quiet, relaxing, two good restaurants

    Cons:

Service is not what I have come to expect from Mandarin Hotels elsewhere. Staff are often inattentive (had to call four times to ensure flower delivery actually happened 8 hours later than planned; restaurant bookings were forgotten). Building is sadly in need to a ...

  • Loved It!!!!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/06
The place was gorgeous! Clean and beautiful. Very friendly staff and amazing views. The dolphins are the best part! We went for our honeymoon and we had such a good time. The food there is a little pricey, but there is a free shuttle that goes into town every hour. It will take you to the mall (or you could walk there) and there is food there ...

  • Superb Service and Location. We will be coming back this June 2006 for business and pleasure.
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/01/06
I like the location and privacy. It is like staying in your own private resort. The room was immaculate and clean with wine ,crackers ,cheese and fruits upon arrival. The concierge and valet services were professional and prompt. We were treated extremely well and we are coming back...

  • A Dream Honeymoon Spot
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/30/06
Who in the world are these few nattering naysayers who must be so unhappy in their lives not to absolutely LOVE this hotel?!! Amazing!!

My new wife and I stayed here a while back for our honeymoon, after researching all the other available places. Wanted to be close to the activity of Waikiki Beach, but secluded as well.

    This is the perfect ...

  • Not impressed!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/09/06
My husband and I recently stayed at the Mandarin Oriental in Kahala during the Thanksgiving holiday.

We reserved a Mountain View room with balcony. The room was definitely dated and not as clean as one would like. I had to ask for a new pillow because I couldn't stand the stench seeping from the one I had. The maid service was spotty at ...

  • A great hotel!
    By Spencer, 01/02/06
The Mandarin Oriental is an excellent hotel in all areas! The service is first class, and is helpful. Even the standard rooms are large (550 sq ft.) and luxuriously equipped, with nice decor, comfortable beds, and a big marble bathroom. The views from the rooms are very lovely. There are a large selection of good resturants in the hotel and all have good food. The rooms are expensive, but overall a five-star hotel!
