Traveling on business and the hotel was quiet, the staff was polite and unobtrusive and the breakfast was excellent with an amazing view. Didn't get to try the wonderful pool, but it was so nice to look at while eating breakfast!

Worst experience wait until road construction over
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/27/09
We arrived 2:00 am tired and were given ear plugs. Their is too much construction going on. A new highway is being built on one side of Miramar and they work day and night. Also the sewer smell is terrible. They are working to put sewers in also next to the Miramar. . Very hard crossing street as it is on main road. Breakfast was deliciious, people nice. I would not go back until construction is completed.
I just got back from my fourth trip to Panama. And let me say that I am not the type to complain. I can overlook a lot of faults before I speak out. I'm just not that guy. Before this trip in the Sheraton, Hotel Panama and the Country Inn Suites. All were much much better experiences then the 5 star Intercontinental. I decided to stay ...
Its not even a three star hotel. Room service:.. be repaired to wait one hour or so, all amenities are very outdated, one of two restaurant is closed... From my experience in Panama, better go to Radisson Decapolis, cheaper price much better service, rooms and restaurant.

Stay here!

The rule of thumb when searching for accommodations is that you get what you pay for. And at the Intercontinental Miramar what you'll pay for is perhaps one of the best places to stay while in Panama. Hence, this is definitely not the cheapest hotel you'll find in Panama City, but since you will get what you pay for you'll accept that ...

Good place

Great location in the city. Not a good idea if you are in a rush with a business agenda. They only have 2 elevators so you might get impatient while waiting. Ask for a room with view to the bay.

Dirty, needs major rehab, improved management
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/22/06
I wouldn't say "Terrible" if this were not supposed to be a 5-star hotel, charging over $125 a night. The breakfast buffet is indeed fantastic, as are the views, and the staff intends to be helpful, with varying results. There are two elevators for the entire hotel, and only one ice machine, on the 15th floor. When I was booked into ...

Loved it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/05/06
I liked the view from the room. The Lobbie was beautiful and so was the pool area! The location of the hotel is great, it is in the middle of the downtown and on the water front.

Great city, nice hotel.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/29/06
The hotel is beautiful and the view of the Pacific is fantastic. The pool and gym are very nice. The location is perfect to explore the city. The only thing that needs work is the food. We will go back.
