Management seems to be trying to run a nice hotel on the cheap, with fewer staff to serve guests, but prices not going down accordingly. The staff seem harried and overworked, and unhappy in their jobs. Location is not good for parking. Only marginal compliance in decor and none in employee attire with Deadwood's unique Old West theme. There are better hotels in Deadwood.

We stayed at the Mineral Palace Express during the Corvette rally in July. The hotel is nice and it was reasonably priced. The front desk clerk was very nice. She apologized for the price (around $100) and said the price would go down after the rally. We thought $100 was definitely reasonable. We will definitely stay there again.

The Hotel room was dirty and not cleaned before our stay.

We contacted the manager, Laurie, and asked for a different room or that this room be cleaned and were told that, "at this hour it would be impossible, and they are short handed in the maid staff."

I have stayed at the hotel several times. I find the hotel fine. However I did have a very rude dealer on three card. Not one time but twice..same person. I think the casino needs to select their employees better.I am still thinking of calling the management.

Our room was on main floor just off casino, no door to seperate hotel and casino. room was on main street, could not open curtain without people on sidewalk or on thr street looking in.

The staff treats you like a king.The table game dealers are helpful and alot of fun!! The new VIP rooms are top of the line privacy and comfort.
