  • A quiet respite

    We did the "Norway in a Nutshell" tour. We left from Oslo by train and than changed to the spur line to Flam. We overnighted at the Freitheim. The then left the next day (3:30PM or 1530hrs) by boat to Bergen via the Sognefjord. We had spent several busy days in Oslo prior to the train trip.

    We stayed at Fretheim for part of our honeymoon. The room (a junior suite) was clean, spacious and comfortable with a fine view of the quayside.

    The food was a different matter. We had the same limited menu for our four consecutive nights and the quality of food was average. For breakfast the first morning the "buffet" was a plate ...
