fantastic location for eating & theatresWe stayed at the Shaftesbury in March 2005 and found it to be a lovely place. The staff are not topnotch, but pleasant enough. Rooms are well-sized and if you stay in one of the back rooms, you will hear the singing from St Anne's church service on Sundays (as well as theie bell tolling every hour - but not at night!). Not as AdvertisedPhoned previous day to ensure early arrival as I was taking the red eye from the US. Over an hour shuttle ride from Heathrow. Told by staff early arrival ok for check in. Upon arrival sentenced to stark reception area as staff tried in vain to find my room.
