Reminded me of a motel from the 60's. The most uncomfortable bed! Think I would have been better off in a sleeping bag on the beach. Room was not cleaned so had to get more towels, etc. Breakfast buffet was a joke-bananas were ready to be used for banana bread. Only good thing about room was it was clean when we arrived and the water pressure in shower was great. Next visit will spend a few extra dollars for a decent hotel.

The price is great and service is good..The rooms are great for the price ..I would go back..I have been there 3 times and soon will be my 4th. Why pay up into the hundreds for the same view and a clean place to lay your head when you can get the same for cheaper?

Reminded me of the 1960's. Old, yet clean, friendly staff, rooms cleaned daily. There was a dog convention at the hotel, and that's why we stayed at the Sands. Pet Friendly. Walk out your door to the dunes, and the beach. Easy walk to town.

I had the dubious privilege of staying in a junior suite at The Sands, booked by a friend who was staying there also. The staff was so accomodating and made sure our stay was great. They are also pet friendly which is what we were looking for. Rooms were a great value and clean.

When I go to the ocean I spend most of my time outside playing. I just need a hotel room to sleep and shower. If that it what you are looking for this hotel is right for you. It is comfortable and cheap so you can spend your money on more important things.And although it is not new and sparkley, the staff is nice and the roomns are clean.

My room had an ocean view, a comfy bed, a kitchen (with full size fridge and stove), a fireplace, and cable TV. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They gave me keys to view three different style rooms, one of the rooms had been remodeled.
