We love Caravels for one reason; YOU are the customer and they aren't stuffy. Even now with the facelift, it is still a carefree environment. We can relax and we don't have to go anywhere if we don't want. They have a snack bar which is nice if you need a beer or pop, pastry, or hotdog! Their beds are awesome. You can tie up your boat ...

Most wonderful vacation close to home!

Our family has stayed at The Caravel for several years and for awhile we thought of going somewhere else however this past summer we stayed in one of the new condos...WOW! We are talking plasma tv's, beautiful furniture, washer and dryers, tile floors and granite countertops the beds are to die for, views and fireplaces, what a ...

Liked the location, close to town and on the lake. The hotel is really rundown, with plain ciderblock rooms that haven't been re-decorated since 1969 (Really!).

I also thought it was extremely loud, as they allowed teenagers to sleep out on the deck below our balcony. We even had one night where someone was playing basketball at 2AM, hitting the cinderblock walls as a backstop. Way overpriced for what you get.

I love staying at the Caravel, I come from Colorado every year and it is alwys worth my while. The location is absolutely perfect, shopping, restaurants and everything you need, within walking distance. Lake access out your front door, how much better can it be?? The Walckers are gracious hosts and I plan to vacation there in the future.
