I am a mother of 2 and a family vacation is very important. I researched long and hard and discovered the Woodlands was the best deal. I wasn't sure what to expect because the reviews were mixed, however our experience was wonderful and I would recomend this to anyone. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The daily maid service was awesome. ...
My husband and I stayed at this hotel in April 2009. We arrived and checked into our room. They were nice enough to let us check in early. We go to use the bathroom and notice there is something wrong with the toilet. The water level was really high. After calling the front desk they said someone would be right up. We had to call three hours later ...
I went there on spring break. The price was outrageous per a day, which shorten our trip. The location is nice. It is right there by the Visitor Center and by the shuttles. The room is quite large and clean, however the beds were hard but i dealt with it. The breakfeast, aint no southern breakfast with gravy and sausage but rather cereal, danishes, ...

No cell phone service unless you have verizon. Some rooms wreaked of cigarettes. Great Continental breakfast including hot and cold cereals, variety of juices, fruits, great danishes, homemade muffins, bagels, milks, etc.!

Good place to stay

This is a very nice place to stay. The rooms are large and nicely decorated. There is enough room to set up a pack-n-play crib without having to inch around it. The location is wonderful-the visitor center is just steps away. The breakfast offered is also very nice. The beds are nice but not always comfortable.
This place was awesome. I went about 2 years ago with my family when the hotel was brand new. IT was so nice there, and the service was GREAT. I can't wait until this summer when we're going back!

The family suites arrangement cannot be more inconvenient. A room with a queen bed and another room with a ..... sofa-bed!! Is it abnormal to think that you could put two twin beds in a children room?? That stupid suite arrangement forced us (two adults and two teenagers, boy and girl) to get two regular rooms, which is of course a lot more ...

Beds worse than any dorm room's
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/20/06
Great proximity to Colonial Williamsburg, but we had aching backs for days following our 2 night stay. Have you ever sat on the corner of a bad bed and the mattress sinks almost to the floor?? This is how poor the beds are in this hotel. I tried both beds in our room and then asked to change rooms for the second night. The beds are awful in every room. The room rate was $139/ night- for that price I would expect a decent mattress.

The new Woodlands Hotel and Suites, located at the Visitors Center at Williamsburg is an excellent package buy for a visit to the restored Capital of the Virginia Colony. The suites are beautifully designed and compliment the whole Williamsburg experience. Shuttles leave almost from your doorstep, the entrance fee is deeply discounted, and all the ...

An Average Place

I thought the rooms were a bit small. While the hotel is adjacent to the Visitors Center, you're paying the price for the location. Continental breakfast was crowded. The Huzzah! Restaurant was having major service problems the night we were there, but they were nice enough to give us a discount on the meal. The food was good, once it finally arrived. I am also partial to hotel properties with indoor pools - Woodlands pool is outdoors.
