The hotel is not worth the price. It does not look clean and does not feel clean. The bath towels are thin and do not absorb well. There is mold in the bathroom and holes in the walls. The restaurant service was terrible. I had to hunt down a server in the kitchen to ask for the glass of milk I had ordered. There are so many signs in the ...

It's an Aging Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/24/07
We stayed in this hotel spring break 2006 and were dissapointed. The entire hotel, except the lobby, smelled a bit of mold and sweat. The room was almost clean in the sense the carpet was stained and gross looking. All the carpets were stained and gross looking. I would not walk barefoot on that. The desk service was nice as well as the attendants ...
I got married on the beach and the hotel helped a lot. We stayed in one of their rooms that had an excellent view, great bed, and great service! No complaints, in fact my sister and her husband are coming back to stay in December.
Very relaxing and all attractions are in walking distance. The sleep number bed was great. Good margaritas and great staff! Would have been perfect had the lobby and hallways been airconditioned better.

Overpriced and plain disgusting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/26/06
I'm not sure where to even start talking about this place. Well first off, as soon as we walked in there was an odd dank and dusty odor. The bathroom was full of mold, the toilet had a seat that didn't fit and wouldn't let the door by, the clock didn't work and there was no central air/or heat-- Just a window unit and it is always ...

Probably would not stay here again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/15/06
The location was absolutely fabulous, you can't get any better for anyone who loves the ocean. The aquarium and the Lexington are also within walking distance.
The overall trip for three nights and four days was ok. The first thing we noticed when we walked in the room, was a heavy musty smell. We found out later that night when we walked ...

Gem on the Beach!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/04/06
First of all, its location on the beach was a pleasant surprise. To reach the hotel, you drive through a picturesque steel bridge. The lobby has a charming grand piano (a treat to me!), has direct access to the sand and even gives you an unobstructed view of the shore and water. The tourist attractions USS Lexington and Texas State Aquarium were ...
Things I liked: 1) View out over the bay, especially looking at the USS Lexington. 2) The rooms were large compared to other hotels I have stayed at. 3) The front desk staff were very accomodating and friendly. 4) Access to a computer room to keep track of e-mail and messages on-line. 5) Easy access to Highwat 181 to help us get to our destinations quickly.

We had an Ocean view room - very clean, with a Sleep number bed (excellent!!) Courteous service, great breakfasts, no problems. With walking distance to the Lexington and the Aquarium, nice beach, clean and big!! Very nice people and close enough to downtown!! We are looking forward to our next trip!!

Wonderful Place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/05
Really enjoyed our stay here. Very nice hotel, friendly workers! Decent restaurant and good lounge. Rooms were large and had a very comfortable bed. Very good view of the bay and of the USS Lexington. The only downside was that the beach was trashy, but I do not know if that was the hotel's responsibility.
