When my wife told me we were going to a wedding and staying in the Hyatt in Newport, RI, I thought fantastic, we were in for a great weekend with first class accomidations.

Yeah Right!

The front desk, halls and conference rooms looked nice, the guest rooms however, were not on the same level. Our room was dark and did not have a clean feel ...

The carpets were damp and sticky and bathrooms were dirty with holes in the shower. The wallpapers were peeling off the wall. Some of the staff at the front desk were not accomodating and rude. In the main restaurant the service was not good. Overall we do not believe this hotel deserves its high rating. I would put it in the category of a Days ...

Utter DISSAPOINTMENT! Nightmare doesn't explain the stay my fiancée and I had at this sorry excuse for a hotel. We went on a whim, which usually works out well for us. This was the exception. When I booked the room, I requested a king bed. When we got there, they put us in a double bedroom overlooking the indoor pool with screaming kids. ...

I arrived at 4:00 PM and my room wasn't ready until 5:30 PM because the place was full the night before. I was offered a smoking room. No offer of any amenities were made to help compensate for the inconvenience or to deflect a complaint.
The bathroom was worthy of a third rate Best Western in the boondocks. The door was rotting, there were rust stains in the bathtub and the wallpaper was peeling.
This place needs an extreme makeover.

The Hyatt is a gorgeous hotel with great view, location, and service. We were very happy with the room, food, and meeting spaces. They make you feel very comfortable and some of the staff even rescued us from a very bad party. They are courteous and friendly. I can't wait to go back!!!!

They Hyatt Regency is located across a causeway from downtown Newport and the harbour. The views are beautiful. We stayed in the Captains Quarters and had a waterview double room. The balcony overlooked the Newport bridge, Jamestown, Ft. Adams, and Newport Harbour. The hotel provided free shuttle service into town and was convienent and safe to ...

The Hyatt Newport located on Goat Island is Georgeous. There is a seaside spa and restaurant as well. At the spa ask for Scott (his massages are to die for.) This place is perfect for all ages. However keep in mind most because this hotel is on small island is a long walk to the Beaches and Nightlife. This is the best hotel in Newport.

My husband surprised me with a birthday weekend to Newport, RI. The hotel itself was centered in a beautiful location. The spa was more then perfect and I shall suggest an appointment to anyone visiting this hotel any time soon.
It was indeed more then I expected and I am looking forward to making Hyatt Regency Newport an annual birthday getaway.

This hotel sounds great in the reviews- on Goat Island, secluded, great views. Reality is that it is a two star, overpriced hotel with mediocre rooms and staff. If you cant get anything else, and really want to be in Newport, it is passable, but that's all. Stay anywhere else!
