We had a room on the ground floor facing the beach, it was perfect. Just open the patio door and walk out to the beach. The room was clean and the staff was friendly, and the other hotel guest were too. Great deal on a beach front room and it has a "private beach", so you don't have a lot a people like you do at public beaches. We Loved it and would go back.
We stayed in the Four Seasons part. The place is very run down and dirty. The bath room is so antique, I would say it is like something from out of the 70's. Also they advertise free high speed internet service. We could not get access to the internet in our room the whole time we were there, when we called the desk, they just said sorry, ...

Great beach at Yancey
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/08/08
We had a great stay at the Quality Inn. We find it the easiest place to vacation the Outer banks. The staff is always friendly and are excited to get back this year after the renovation. The pool is much improved and our kids loved it! The bedding is also much better than years past.

Many Years of Memories
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/08/07
My wife and I have been traveling to John Yancey in the off season for years and have always found the motel a great find on the beach. Our trips which usually take place around Christmas, have provided us with wonderful memories over the years.

Just OK...

We called and made our reservations over a month ahead and had called to confirm twice. Upon our arrival, the clerk at check-in said he had no record of our reservation. He did not even attempt to continue to look for us in the computer, he simply said, "I have no reservation for you." I asked him to please look again, spelling our last ...

Great Beach Motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/23/07
This motel was the perfect beach motel. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We had plenty of towels--all we had to do was ask. The microwave and refrigerator were handy. They do allow pets so if that bothers you, then you may want to look elsewhere. Our room had no sign of pets--no odor, etc. ...
The beachfront location is the best and maybe the only thing going for this place. Be advised, there are actually two parts to this hotel : a newer building they call "four seasons" and the older part, where our family of four recently stayed. It was great to be able to literally walk out our door and be on the beach. However, several ...

Home away from home!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/16/05
It was like going home but it was really going to the beach! The atmoshpere was so relaxed... I loved how close they were actully to the ocean. The location was wonderful (shops and food close by- Kill Devil Grill was great!) The staff could get me anywhere by knowing or finding the location out for me. I will most certainly go there again!
I'm a bargain shopper; sometimes I have to expect less of a hotel in order to save money. I didn't expect to find a great deal right on the beach, but the Quality Inn far exceeded my expectations. The room was clean and in great condition, the staff was very courteous and friendly, the view of the ocean was incredible, and I didn't ...
