I love Naniboujou because it is the perfect place to relax. There are no phones in the room or televisions in the rooms or lodge. Winter is beautiful there. You sit in the lovely community room and watch the snow fall and you have the warmth of the fireplace to read or knit or play games. Summer is awesome too as is Spring and Fall.

My annual retreat
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/29/08
I love this place. I've been there eight years in a row and this summer we're having our family reunion there. If you're looking for beauty, good food, hiking, sailing, a nearby art community (Grand Marais) and a place to sit and soak up Lake Superior breeze and sun, this is it. Naniboujou has a loyal clientele and a friendly way of ...

Wonderful Break
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/19/08
It was 1969 and we were moving from New Hampshire to Calif. We had just completed driving the north shore of the Great Lakes, the wife was then pregnant and unconfortable. We saw the Lodge and decided to stop. We had a great room, she had a great bath and rest. I being a fisherman, walked over to the nearby stream and caught a big trout. The ...

A place worth returning to
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/12/07
Not only does the lodge provide a comfortable, beautiful and relaxing environment, but also the people who come share those very attributes. Every meal is a new experience with great food, nice instrumental music, and oh coffee-the best special blend I have ever had. Take the time to enjoy yourself, head to Naniboujou..

Peace and Quiet
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/14/06
If you are looking for a quiet place to relax and read a book, this is the place for you.
A couple of things that are challenges... the restaurant is kind of expensive for all meals --but the food is great and the service is pretty good. Also, they don't have king-sized beds and the bathrooms are really small and kind of akward.
First we enjoyed because of it attracts people who like peace and quite and just a good walk in the park across the street. The birds, deer and the Brule River lays a long side, to fish in the spring for salmaon. Winter there just after Christmas is awesome. Fireplace, in the main lodge it awesome with singing at dinner time, with the old fashion tunes. The food is costly but worth it! The history, with the old fashion times of Babe Ruth!

Spring Adventure
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/11/06
Lake Superior is one of the main attractions at this lodge. Sitting on the beach late in the evening with the waves crashing on shore can not be beat! They even provide comfortable seating and a place to have a bonfire. The lodge itself is a wonderfully inviting place to sit by the fireplace reading your favorite book. The lodge is noted for its ...
