My room was immaculate, everything was new and everyone was friendly and accommodating. I had read some bad reviews that made me nervous but I had a wonderful experience. Make sure you visit Becky's Diner and Hot Suppa for breakfast - fantastic!

This Hotel is Absolutely Fine
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/09/09
I got this hotel on Priceline and after reading the negative online reviews I was a wreck... What I found when I arrived was that...This hotel is fine, the rooms were clean and well appointed, modern, A/C worked fine and was not loud. Hotel staff was pleasant and accommodating. Location is great, walk or drive to the waterfront. Parking is next ...
We stayed at the Eastland Park Hotel for a long weekend on the "Leaf Peepers Package" which was supposed to include breakfast & parking for each night of stay. Sure enough, our parking ticket was validated when we left and cost us nothing. Unfortunately, breakfast was a different matter. We were given "coupons" for $9.00 off ...
Maybe 80 years ago this was a grandstand hotel. Now the front desk is indifferent. The hotel was very hot our whole stay. The hotel said that once the heat was turned on, they could not turn the A/C back on. Was told that that was the law in Portland. The hotel had peeling wall paper everywhere. We detected the odor of an old hotel everywhere ...
This hotel is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at! Lobby was beautiful, but disgustingly downhill after that. Desk clerk was indifferent, hallways smelled like sewage on several floors, peeling yellowed wallpaper in hallways. Our room was on a corner with glass windowpanes floor to ceiling. They replaced some window panes with plexiglass. The ...

Wonderful Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/26/08
I'm perplexed by all of the negative reviews. We had a beautiful room with a spectacular view. Service was as good as I've experienced anywhere. Can't beat the location. Overall, a very nice stay.

do not stay here

Please do not disregard the bad reviews this place has received- they are well earned! We were on a 2 week tour of New England, staying in grand old 'non chain' hotels, Eastland Park has had a glorious past, its present was a HUGE disappointment. We arrived at the front door, asked bell-boys where to park the car. told there was a ...
Decrepit is the word that sums up everything there is to know about this hotel. Cracked and dirty ceiling tiles, dark, dingy hallways, torn carpets, old battered elevators. The time is long past due to tear this old hotel down and start over. At least gut the building and rebuild. The mattress in our suite was definitely about as cheap as you can ...

Never never go there
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/03/07
The maids are gracious but that's all that is good about this hotel. They overcharged our bill with movies on demand *when we were not even near the roon* refused to refund their endless telephone charges when we were not in the room nor were we using their phones. Management staff there are degrading and bullying as we had to go to the ...

Convenient Location/Parking Over Priced
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/28/07
Lobby was absolutely beautiful. Wait Staff very accomodating. Was somewhat disappointed in our room. Room was small and a corner room. Bathroom was also small. We felt parking was over priced at $11.00 per day discounted. The restaurant food was delicious but slightly expensive. Top of The East was a releaxing experience and we met freinds ...
