My husband & I stayed here for 4 days earlier this month. The location of this hotel was WONDERFUL. There isn't a better located hotel than this one. So close to all major points of interest in the French Quarter. I would definitely stay here again. The service was great, the hotel is very quaint with lots of old historic charm. Although ...

Cheap, You get what you pay for. Won't be going back.

This hotel was recommeded by the local tourist information office for an excellent price, however the rooms provided in this price range were similar to hostel/backpackers standard. During our stay, which we cut short and moved on to a better hotel, their seemed to be problems with the air conditioning in several rooms and a leak in others. Won't be going back there and won't take advice from the New Orleans tourest office again.
My buddy and I found this place via the internet and was able to book a room with a view and balcony for very cheap. However, we found out later (during a ghost tour) that the hotel was built on the remains of a burned down orphanage. We did get some pictures with blue lights and strange white dust in them. Definetly a place for adventure seekers and definitly not for the faint of heart.

Great New Orleans Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/01/07
We visited in March 2007 and were delighted. The location was ideal, in the center of everything and easy to walk to sites in the French Quarter - even for older people. Our room was off the courtyard and without a window, but it was quiet, clean, and spacious. This hotel is a terrific value and very “old New Orleans.” Skip the continental breakfast and walk down to Cafe Du Monde for beignets.
I stayed at the Place D'armes last weekend and it was cool! My boyfriend saw orbs in the room and the TV kept changing channels on its own. (mind you he doesn't believe in ghosts) The service was amazing. I left my bag there by accident and the staff was very prompt in sending it to me all the way back in Chicago. The room was large and ...

Filthy

You don't really go to NOLA to spend your time in a hotel but I have to tell you I wasn't impressed. I had read a bunch of great reviews about this place though came across others that weren't so hot. The place is filthy. The shutter door on the bathroom is covered in dust, stains all over the carpet, and a lumpy bed. There was a two ...

Location an Atmosphere
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/18/07
We stayed here in May 2005 and are going back again this April 2007. We found it a lovely B&B with a terrific location (right on Jackson Square) The coutyard and pool are beautiful, and our room was clean and comfortable. The only down side was the contenental breakfast was quite ordinary.
The staff were gracious, the location was perfect and the courtyard was lush and romantic. We had a double courtyard view room and a long balcony with table and chairs. Everything from the ceiling fan to the exposed brick wall to the view of the pool said New Orleans. We didn't want a typical hotel room and were thrilled with our choice. We look forward to returning in March.

Good location if you don't want to use your car while you stay in the quarter. Ok service. If you are scared of ghosts don't stay here. There was at least one in my room.
Other than that, I wish that there had been caffeinated coffee in the room instead of decaf packs.

NIce, but

It was nice and authenic, but in being old, we had mice in our room and the hotel was very casual about it............. They have many different styles of rooms, We were on the third floor with no window. It is old and filled with the essence of New Orleans.
