The W Hotel in the French Quarter was a wonderful choice for me and my husband. The courtyard is simply amazing and very relaxing. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The ambassador at the front desk even gave us a better room than we originally booked, just to be nice. The rooms were great! We don't recommend having a room ...

Wonderful Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/09/08
I stayed at this hotel during the July 2007 Essence Festival and I've already re-booked for this year. The rooms are small, but well appointed and the decor is chic and trendy - like most W hotels. This property is smaller than the larger W hotel on Poydros, but I was happy with my choice. The street is 2 blocks from Bourbon, but extremely ...

I've come back more than once
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/25/07
I really loved this property, it's proximity, the decor. The staff there was very helpful on the 8-10 day trips I was there, it felt like a home away from home. I did enjoy the room located back by the courtyard most as it was so peaceful.
Right in the moddle of the French Quarters of the Old Big Easy, this place looked like a cross between French Provincial and Spanish Rennaisance. Antibellum. I believe that's the word. We had hoped for better, but we were judging the book by the cover. The rooms, while smaller than expected were cozy, clean, and charismatic. We plopped into ...

Clean towels, please!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/23/07
This is a striking, upscale hotel with small but beautifully-appointed rooms, centrally-located in the French Quarter. However, I had no maid service over a three-day weekend - I was told by the front desk, "We are too busy with people checking out." Finally, I stopped a maid in the hallway and managed to get from her some clean towels. ...

Disappointed experience done twice!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/15/07
I am amazed how a hotel like this one, who dares to advertise themself with high-end hotel, in reality, is poor when it comes to service. I really love the amenities and location of the W-hotel...but the service...oh...so poor service! Whatever/whenever line is guaranteeing the guest "whatever they need whenever". well we were using ...

not worth the money

This hotel is the one next to Bacco on Chartres. Not the one on Poydras. I felt the room was average. More like a $90 room instead of a $169 room. It is close to Bourbon St and right in the Quarter. The Doubletree is next to harrahs off canal, a short walk to Bourbon st, the aquarium and the French Market, and is a better value. I made a ...

Winter Oasis for Artists & Lovers
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/27/05
My most profound memory of our weekend stay at The W was opening up the French window that looked out over the little street below, a narrow street lined with antique stores and posts where horses used to rest. The interior of our room was comfortable luxury, with little treats in the fridge available for easy purchase. The shower was spacious. ...
