What makes this hotel four star?-NOTHING!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/06/07
I've read some of the reviews on here and want to know if they were written by the owners to make it sound good! Nothing about this hotel was fabulous. My bedroom at home looks better! The lobby was dead and had no life. The lounge was not opened. I see that someone wrote a review in 2005 and the elevator was broke...it's still broke!! ...

A grim little room.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/02/06
Yes, the Orrington has a good location and a fine restaurant, but the rooms were not pleasant. The first one I was in had a broken air conditioner. It took a while but I was finally moved to another room. It was next to the elevator, had a working but ancient, horribly loud air conditioner, and the small window looked out on a wretched view of rooftop/building utilities. I found it dark and a little depressing and not worth the price.
Newly remodeled place - we loved it! Service was awesome, very friendly and helpful staff. Definitely the best place to stay in the north Chicago area!

don't think it's Chicago
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/14/05
You hear the word Omni and you would think it has a similar reputation to the Omni in downtown Chicago. Don't be fooled, this is a 21/2 star hotel at best. The building desperately needs a rennovation, and although the lobby area is fine, you will be sleeping in the rooms not the lobby. We did have a nice view and enjoyed the city of Evanston itself for it's intimate resturants and street life.

great location, hotel is Ok
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/09/04
If you (or your child) is going to Northwestern, this is a great hotel. It is within walking distance to campus and the staff is very knowledgable about the university. The rooms are ok (somewhat small). The hotel is showing its age somewhat, but overall a great place to stay near NU.
