It is a dump in a nice location. Everything about the place is dated, run down and way over priced. I would never stay again or recommend to anyone. Fely taken by the rate of $279 when $50 might have been reasonable for this dump.
WE like everything about Villa Rosa. The location is great we can walk every where. The atmosphere is like no where else, relaxing seeing the ocean just a min. away. the wine and cheeze but most of all the friends we meet there. People who stay there are from all over the world and enjoy relaxing and sharing time together. The staff could not ...
Thier web site led me to believe this was a very special upscale boutique Inn. It was not...the structure is beautiful, the help wonderful, but the Inn is "down in the heel". I should have known when I tripped over the torn carpeting on the stairs up to my room. The carpet was old and stained.....and the room was not much better. For the ...

We loved our experience at the Villa Rosa. It offers a quaint, relaxing experience in a historic inn, with wonderful touches - wine & cheese at happy hour, sherry or port at nite and a filling breakfast the next day.

AWFUL - STAY AWAY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/30/06
Upon arriving, the room we were given had stains on the carpet and chairs. The walls were marred and the bedspread was dirty. We asked for another room and we took one of the 10 they showed us. They all were the same..stained carpet and chairs, dirty walls and our room smelled like mildew. We had french doors that opened to the courtyard but it ...

Some advice for the guest
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/03/06
The hotel lobby is lovely. I felt as though I was walking into an Italian villa. Loved: The breakfast. Have some fun making your own Belgian waffle.
The room was surprisingly average. My husband and I were a little taken aback by a few unpleasant details, from huge stains in the carpet (room 13) to a missing cover on an arm chair. But these ...

Dirty and worn carpets, musty odor, a broken light fixture, worn and outdated furnishings, tiny bathroom. Villa Rosa used to have a sophisticated feel but sadly it's now on the decline. Staff were nice but clueless when it came to advance details about the rooms or restaurant info. Well located with free wireless internet access.

My husband and I arrived at the Santa Barbara train station and had no clue how to get to the Villa Rosa Inn, but the lovely girl at the front desk led me in the right direction! Our room had a fireplace inside it and private balcony overlooking the pool, we were able to relax during the wine and cheese hours in the evening down by the lobby ...
Wonderful service and very cozy rooms... it has a very rich feel, almost like an Italian courtyard inn. I can't think of a better location in Santa Barbara, too.
