what a great hotel!
Some thing I noticed on other reviews/general information listed which is not correct.
* It's definatly not a timeshare as one reviewer said. * It's not a 4 star its a 5 star AND a LHW (Leading Hotel of the World... only 257 of them on the planet).
This hotel has an old world feel with the architecture, art niches and well-appointed guest rooms. The staff is polite and friendly. Our room, both times, had a great view of the bay and coronado bridge. Each room has a small balcony and having the doors open to the fresh air was wonderful. The location is right in the heart of the gaslamp and ...
Right in the middle of the downtown mall of San Diego is a major treasure of a hotel. The Westgate Hotel is a hidden gem with all the old world charm and elegance of the finest European hotels. From the moment you enter the lobby with its heirloom European furniture you know you are in a special place. You are greeted by friendly, courteous ...

I felt like a celebrity!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/10/05
I loved this time share. Although my husband and I don't own a time share, we stayed there anyway to enjoy the amazing experience. We are thinking about buying a time share and that's why we stayed. I will definitely be going back. There is nothing I didn't enjoy about it. I also got to experience the spa in this time share and it was amazing!!! Best massage I've ever had! Thanks Westgate!!!

Westgate in San Diego
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/30/04
We had the plesure to stay in the Westgate July 2004. It was an absolutely wonderful time! From the afternoon tea with live harp music to the gorgeous antiques, no detail was overlooked. The staff were all very friendly and you get the distinct impression that there is nothing more important for them to do than to make sure you are happy. The Sunday brunch was sumptuous, especially the crepes and the cream brulee.
The Westgate is by far the best hotel in all of San Diego! Their rooms are considerably larger compared to all others I've ever seen and by far more elegant. The food is absolutely to die for also.
