Great Place To Stay!Staff is very helpful and friendly. Great value and excellent location. Our deluxe room was spacious with a great view. Delightful stay. Couldn't have been more pleasedThis was not a fun trip, but a medical necessity. Given that, the hotel offered a peaceful retreat with staff that aimed to please. The breakfast offerings were more than adequate, cereals, bagels, breads, fruits, juice, coffee, teas, & cookies. This was repeated for afternoon teas.

Service was horribleI arrived to the hotel at 10PM and was told, "Oh, by the way, we don't have a room for you. I think a pipe burst, or something." They had found a room for me at the Great Motor Inn on the Great Highway but could not offer me taxi money to get there or to my conference downtown the next day. ENJOYABLE TIMEWe stayed while bringing our son to USF. The staff was very friendly and informative on quaint little neighborhood restaurants with very good food. Although the hotel is basic, it is authentic San Franciscanand the best way to enjoy Golden gate Park and the surrounding area including the Haight district.Was this review helpful? Don't stay in the Queen Cupola Room!The Queen Cupola Room which looks lovely from the outside, is actually located on the corner of a 4 lane highway and a 2 lane road. The traffic light is right over your bedroom window. The noise from the street, the loud bar next door-that's open 'til 2 am and the Harley shop across the street made sleeping almost impossible. A Gem!We loved our stay at the Stanyan Park Hotel. It is across from Golden Gate Park and is an easy walk to the museums, Japanese Tea Garden, etc. You can stroll up Haight Street and soak up the fun atmosphere while shopping in the funky, trendy stores and eating in the fabulous restaurants.
