This hotel will nickel and dime you to death! On top of the 150.00 dollar per night, you will have to pay extra for parking(15 a day), internet(10 a day), and breakfast(8.00 for a child 12.9... for adult per day). The rooms are not very clean (hair still in bathroom; GROSS!) and the service is below par. I will never stay in another doubletree! ...

A pretty good deal
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/09/08
I got my room for a deal, so it was a great value for me. Beds were very comfortable, large rooms, beautiful private balcony, and nice TVs. They were doing renovation during our stay (at 7am), but when I complained about being woken up, they gave us a discount! Staff was very friendly- always gave us more delicious cookies! Definitely need a car to stay here.

Overall great hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/28/08
Staff was nice and helpful. The newly renovated suite was very nice and comfortable. The hotel has an older feel but with loads of updated style. Great pool and spa area. The parking garage is small and not comfortable for large cars. The down side to this hotel is paying $10.00 per day for internet and $14.00 per day for parking. During my stay there was only one elevator operating and the wait was long.

Great place for kids!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/30/08
We had a great room that was clean and the beds are amazing. We was in town for vacation and did Sea World and The Zoo from this hotel and it worked great. We had six in our party Me my girlfriend and our 4 kids and the suite with the bunkbeds worked out great. Staff was friendly and helpful and seriosly DON'T forget the cookies they give ...
The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The free chocolate chip cookies were the best. I will probably stay here again, it is right in the middle of all the tourist sites.

good location nice hotel in area
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/18/06
The hotel is one of the "nicer" ones in the area. Location is great, very close to San Diego Down Town, Seaport Village, Sea World... Our room was nice and clean with private balcony with few minuses (TV remote not working well, light bulb was out, sliding door could not lock). Service staff was nice, front desk staff need some work (not too professional). Overall, it was decent.
I love when I get GREAT treatment at a hotel. The thing that most impressed me was that there were LOTS of pillows. LOTS AND LOTS of pillows. They were all fluffy and soft and the bed felt like heaven. I hadn't slept that good in YEARS. Awesome facility. Walking distance from the San Diego Trolley, Joes Crab Shack, AppleBees and 2 malls. Great Experience.

A good (not great) 3-Star hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/05
We stayed two nights (10/9, 10/10), and paid $89/night for 2 queen beds on the 7th floor (a definite advantage of travelling off-season). But initially we were disappointed in what we found. The desk staff was courteous, but the other staff was not guest-focused (stepping onto the elevator ahead of guests, going ahead of me through an outside ...
This hotel is located close to a nice mall and a lot of restaraunts. It is not a far drive from many of San Diego's attractions. It is also not too far from a Trolley station which can get you all over San Diego. The room was nice, and the balcony is a nice touch. This hotel has some nice ammentities but there are others in the area that have more to offer.
