We have been staying at the Dream Inn for the last 7 years, even when it was "West Coast" and then before that "Coast INN". The kids really love it. One likes the beach, and one likes the pool. We were there over this past weekend, and I was dissapointed. The color scheme is all 70's and the feeling is a clod one. Why they ...

Loved the hotel, great location but a little on the expensive side for what you get. Clean and spacious, the pool is in a nice position but a little compact (let's face it you have to be real brave to swim in the Pacific!)

We loved being right on the beach. Right next to the wharf. The room was nice. A little out dated by absolutely nothing wrong with it. Wonderful view, clean and well stocked with pillows, bathrobes, etc. Great place and would stay again.

SAND SAND EVERY WHERE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/22/07
We were on the loby floor, and sand kept coming up in the bathtub. No one was to worried about it. When we arrived, we noticed red spots on the tub, took forever for someone to come clean it up.. What was it? Who knows Great view
Took our family in mid-July (we could not afford Hawaii this year) - what a great substitute! Stayed in an ocean view - heard the water all night long.
The staff was great and very helpful. The area of Santa Cruz is interesting - a lot of homeless - (butif you have to be homeless, what a great place to be homeless!) We took our 2 kids - they ...
Being a native Californian and spending many happy summer days at the Santa Cruz boardwalk, I loved staying here in the heart of it, and right on the beach. Sure the place is older and a little worn down in places, but you can't beat the location. It's almost like sleeping on the beach but with a comfortable bed, large bathroom and cable ...
The service was outstanding. We ate and drunk in the bar and Nick was fabulous. We had the feelings of one great happy family. We met people from all walks of life and they were so down to earth. Birds came right up to our balcony. Any one that has medical problems like high blood pressure should come here and stay as it lowered my blood pressure. Thank you Nick and Staff for a fabulous vacation!

wharf lights through the fog

I can't think of anything I disliked, the hotel is being upgraded after becoming part of a small chain. Our room was clean and the bedding was equal to that in some well know hotels that charge twice as much. The view can't be beat and it was only $75 more dollars a night than another hotel in SC where my view was overlooking an auto body ...
