We recently stay at the Lodge, from Sept 18 -20, 2009. Cabin was excellent, all food we ate was beyond compare. Entire staff was "the most amiable and pleasant staff to be encountered in many years and trips. That said, the entire area is something you MUST SEE. Sunrise and Sunset are not to be missed!!!!!!!!

Awesome place.

Everything I want in a visit to one of our beloved NPs.
Liked: the view, the weather, the people, the restaurant, the lodge Didn't like: nothing The room was primitive and I sure didn't like the noise from the adjoining room but take it in the spirit of the location. You'll appreciate the Hilton Inn and also the experiences of earlier travelers. As for the limited food, people are right. ...
We stayed at the Lodge in October and we so impressed with the beautiful scenery and how charming the ambiance of the Lodge was. Our cabin was just what we had hoped for, a clean, rustic, private place to retreat after each day of hiking. The restaurant was awesome, we had a nice dinner over looking the canyon at sunset. We cannot wait to return in 2009. We already have reservations!!!
If you go in the summer, there is no air-conditioning. Granted, at the North Rim the nights are cooler, but don't plan any naps in the room during the afternoon. Bring plenty of supplies before entering the North Rim, because there is limited access to food and drinks in the park and you are held hostage to the prices (and limited choices) ...

30th Anniversary Dream

I liked everything about the Lodge @ North Rim. The convenience of staying at the lodge in a motel room with easy access to many of the trails made our stay there more enjoyable. I read reviews before we arrived and knew the choices for food/restaurants were VERY LIMITED .....we instead brought pre-cooked meals that we heated up and brought ...

Don't listen to the whiners!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/30/08
It's a rustic national park people, not the Ritz! Words like magical from some of the more favorable reviews are right on the mark. If we had listened to some of you, we would have missed out on one of the most awesome experiences of our vacationing lifetime. I've stayed in many national parks. One thing you can count on is that they're ...

Highs and lows for July 2008
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/26/08
Two couples for our 25th and 30th anniverseries had adjoining Frontier cabins. Be careful on this, log walls are not soundproof and I got blamed for the other guys snoring! The scenery is not to be missed and the hiking is great even in July since the temps on the north rim were around mid-70's and nights cooled to the 50's. (no AC in ...

Grand Canyon North Rim

My family thought this place was absolutely magical!! We spent three nights in a Pioneer cabin, certainly rustic, but totally part of the "historic experience". The cabin was clean and fairly basic, it was good for us. The Deli was good for grab and go sandwiches and the Dining Room has the greatest breakfast buffet with a view!! The ...
