My wife and I have been to Lake Placid on severl occasions. We first stayed at the Mirror Lake Inn which was very nice, but when we discovered The Interlaken, there was no going back anywhere else. We stayed there at least on 5 different occasions. We liked it so much we bought a house there!

The inn is lovely. Wonderfully decorated without all the prerequisite Adirondack animal trophy heads on the walls (though I think there was one).

The staff was gracious, indulgent and accomodating, and Chef Richard prepared a vegetarian, no-onion meal for me that was delicious.
