I telephoned this hotel from San Francisco at 6:30pm (San Francisco time) September 2, 2004 to reserve a room. Madrid Sofitel lives up to Sofitel reputation

\Excellent location. Staff is personable and attentive. The concierge was very helpful, looking up shops and theatres, calling them to verify information and then showing us where they were located on a map. The lobby is a perfect place for afternoon tea. The buffet breakfast is set around a Spanish fountain. Very enjoyable. We made a return visit a month later and were greeted warmly by the staff!
