My wife and I just returned from a three day stay at San Simeon Pines, and this stay was as good as our first two. We were with another couple who live across the street from us, they were very happy with S.S. P. too. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, and quiet, we couldn't have asked for more. We feel S.S.P. is a ...
My wife and I stay here when we come to the Central Coast (from the San Joaquin Valley). It is pleasant and charming. I would recommend it to those who like charm over substance. The breakfast is OK but there are nice places in nearby Cambria to dine.
Arrived a few hours early to check-in...was refused a room until check-in time. This was a HUGE disappointment, especially after a long drive in from LA. It was very obvious that there were rooms available, the parking lot was empty and you can see that numerous rooms (with open curtains to view inside) were empty and already serviced by housekeeping. Had to go to
My dad has commitment to this hotel. Every time we go to San Simeon, this, and only this, is our hotel. We stay in the same room, and the managment as gotten to know us. In short, I do love this hotel. Walking trail, great breakfast, little sitting room. Pool is always too cold though, but there is a golf course that opens up to a lovely beach with tide pools. Great place.
I go here with my family every year, once of twice. THis is the only place we stay. Normally, we don't go to the pool because the weather in San Simeon is always to chilly! Its beautiful at San Simeon Pines. The people are nice, and the rooms are nice. I have to admit, its not really fancy--there are no frills. But hey, that's fine with me!

Unbelievable Value!

If you're looking for fancy, overpriced, crowded, noisy, pretentious and snobbish, go somewhere else. This place is probably the best kept secret on the Coast! It's away from the masses in Cambria, but close enough not to be a bother. You can literally walk to the beach from the cute golf course (if you don't travel with your iron, ...

Place is beautiful. However do not make a reservation and then cancel it. They are not managed professionaly and are not set up with computers to send out confirmation numbers along with cancelation numbers. Your word against theirs if you cancel. Cheated out of $220.00.
This was a great find. We checked out the other places along the beach which I think were overpriced. This place was perfect for our family 2 adults children 14F 12M.Sorry we could not stay longer but we were just passing through. Staff were friendly (nice Tie). Rooms clean, comfortable and Quite. Pool in a nice setting. A short 5-7 min drive ...

We have been coming here for years and wouldn't stay anywhere else. It's quiet, clean, priced well, and close to the beach and trails. Beautiful grounds. There's lots for kids to do. The staff is nice. Not the fanciest place, but really comfortable. Great place.

The World Isn't So Mean
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/06/05
Don't understand the dilemma with the children, I witnessed caring staff and conscientious room planning -- families stayed in 'family friendly' section and couples w/o children stayed in 'quiet section', as a Senior I find this a fantastic plus in my trips up and down the California Coast. When I travel with my 3 yr. old ...
