We have stayed here numerous times since 1993, and looked forward to this visit, but we paid over $150 w/AAA for a room with no heat, 9 channels on TV, sway-backed beds, missing weatherstripping. After complaining about the complete lack of heat, nothing was done to remedy the condition, even though the temp. was in the low 20s in the morning. The great restaurant across the hwy. was the only positive aspect of the visit.

Over priced room and town. Great local cafe.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/02/07
The rate list posted on the door of our room (required by law) gave Walker River Lodges rates for 1999-2000. I think that must have been the last time the place was actually cared for. We paid $117.00 per night and the room was gross. The shower curtain was frayed and hung in strings at the bottom. There were plastic, faded, and broken flowers in a ...

Great after backpacking!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/27/07
I have wonderful memories of the Walker River Lodge. My parents and their friends would always stay at the lodge a couple nights right after their backpacking trips and built a good relationship with the owners, who always remembered us when we went back. When I was a kid we would always stay there and take vacations to Yosemite with the plan to ...

Our Little Get-a-way
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/23/06
Every October for the past 5 years, my wife & I take a trip over Tioga Pass, through Yosemite NP, and stay 1-2 nights at the WRL. We always request a room on the side with the river behind the room and a well kept lawn area. The room is always clean and the place is quiet at night. Love breakfast across the street at Hays Restaurant. We will keep going back as we look forward to this fall trip every year.
Convenient parking in front of rooms, nice clean rooms, across street from the Hays Street Cafe (best breakfast in the Eastern Sierras). Relatively quiet given location on 395 going through Bridgeport. Pleasant, helpful staff with relative in CHP for road conditions background info. Didn't use pool or spa; both appear attractive.

We'll keep coming back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/17/05
We have celebrated the July 4th holidays (it goes on for days!) in Bridgeport for the last 10 years and have always stayed at the WRL. It is a great place to stay, close to everything, with friendly and accomodating people at the Lodge.

Nice River Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/16/05
We stayed here on a motorcycle journey, so the spa was nice. It's also right by the river, and they have places to read where you can hear the water running.
Each July for the past 5 years we have stayed at the Walker River Lodge for several days. The staff is always courteous & friendly. Our room is always clean upon check-in and cleaned on a daily basis. It is a delight to sit out and watch the Walker River flow by and watch the wildwife. The Lodge is within walking distance to several Restuarants ...
