We have been going to the Penn Wells for 18 years in both the spring and the fall for golf outings. You cannot beat the price for golf at Tyoga CC, room and meals. The staff is always accommodating, the golf course is top notch and the rooms are great. In the fall we bring our wives to go to the antique markets, apple and cheese festival and sidewalk shopping. The Dunkin Donuts across the street is a godsend! Keep up the good work!!
The good - authentic, old time look and decor - nice restaurant and lounge, friendly staff - price I think was bargain - My room with one double bed was $75. Bad - carpet in hallways on first and second floor was just plain filthy. - my room had a slight smell that was not pleasant. - no public internet machine (I think it ...
We stayed at the Lodge in one of the pet friendly rooms with our two dogs. It was clean and adequate for our needs. The pool was wonderful and its location in town made it very convenient. The staff was very accomodating and there is a nice large grassy area in the center of the parking area where we could sit out with the dogs and enjoy the nice ...

An absolute dive, never again!

Party all night whether you want to or not with the loud mouthed loud pipes Harley Davidson set. After a sleepless night you're treated to the "thunder" of the biker jerks who kept you up all night as they depart. no one answers the phone at the front desk after 11pm, the room smelled like dirty diapers and the carpet was wet. Better you should sleep in your car at the side of the road!

Met family here for a mini reunion & had a great time. We enjoyed the old town feel & friendliness. The rooms were very clean( thought a little worn, they are making improvements).Staff was very helpful & friendly, all activities & restaurants& shops nearby. Pool was great for the kids. We will be back at the lodge next year.

Not a good place to stay in Wellsboro
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/21/08
We stayed Oct. 17 and 18 and will not go back. I made this comment to the person at the desk and was told "that's your deceision". The heat in the room was lukewarm at best and the beds were extremely hard making a good nite sleep impossible. There appears no attempt to update the exterior as cracks are all over the walkways and lots of rust seen on the stairs - rated as poor condition for $89.00 a night!
Stayed in both the Lodge and Hotel in 2 seperate trips. Lodge is newer, rooms are adequate, parking may be tight if there is an event in town. The hotel was better for us as my husband has difficulty walking, the handicap parking was ultra convenient, having the dining room available was a real plus. A charming old hotel in a charming town, one of my favorite places to go.

This place stinks...literally
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/13/07
The room smelled awful. We were charged $100 per night because of the Laural Festival that we did not even see or know about. No privacy in the pool because of the "lifeguard" and desk manager that stares at you through the glass windows. Room was dirty upon arrival and screen door was broken. No complimentary items whatsoever (no coffee, no breakfasts, and no desk essentials).
It was a really cute place to stay and I would definately go back. It was located in the most perfect part of town and it really reminded me of the old days.
