We went to Villi Varu in April 2005 and to be honest it is paradise. A 45 minute speed boat ride from Male. When reaching the island you are greeted with a tropical fruit juice and shown to bar area to complete a few formalities. Visited in September 2003 this was our second trip to the Maldives. Preferring the smaller and therefore quieter islands WITH NO MOTOR SPORTS we thought Giravaru would not be beaten. Only being small there aren't many people about. 60 chalets is not a lot by Maldivian standards and it's that that makes the island so attractive.
